Ahhhh – I love it when I’m left with a smile on my face after a weekend of football!
What made me smile?
Only one place to begin. Finally – FINALLY – we’ve won a league game at Anfield. I was explaining to my 7-year-old OddDaughter that the last time we won at Anfield in the league, not only had she not been born yet, but I hadn’t even met Mrs OddFather.
I was going to look back at where I was 14 years ago… but very quickly realised that is a dark place I do not want to revisit.

Moving on swiftly… conceding ZERO shots on target against a team that has three £100million attackers and probably the most intimidating home atmosphere in Europe. Thank you very much!
I’ve had a bit of personal beef with some Liverpool fans over the last couple of years, so this was a very welcome result.
What pissed me off?
Can we talk about Mac Allister for a second? Because, using technical language – and keep up with me here – Mac Allister is a dick.
He practically head-butted Madueke and then went to ground trying to get Madueke sent off. No wonder Argentina’s latest crop of players are disliked so much. I hope he dreams of falling for an extended period of time, and then wakes up falling from his bed, only to realise he’s still dreaming and falls for an extended period of time, waking up falling from his bed only to realise he’s still dreaming… Until a time comes where he learns to stop being such a dick.

What surprised me?
Ok, let’s be honest. Liverpool should have had a penalty for when Timber tugged Isak. Get your head out of the gutter, you know what I mean. I’m genuinely surprised VAR didn’t intervene.
This doesn’t mean we are “VARsenal” or whatever the haters want to call us – things go for us, things go against us. Like the fact Nyoni wasn’t given a single yellow card for two yellow card offences in the opening stages of the game.
I just thought the penalty shout was kind of an obvious call for the refs to make. It’s not our problem the PGMOL is incompetent.
What worries me?
I’m not going to lie – I watched most of this game as if I were watching a horror movie. I watched from behind a pillow, or indirectly by staring at Bluesky on my phone.
Definitely in keeping with Halloween weekend. I hate Halloween. I scare easy.

I had serious Champions League final vibes and was sure Liverpool were going to equalise. My heart would certainly appreciate a few more comfortable wins. I’m not getting any younger.
What does it mean?
Top of the table baby! And when you take the cheating Sham City out of the equation, it leaves us five points clear of Brighton, and nine clear of Liverpool. Not bad going.
There’s still a long time to go in the season, but getting these points will help when we have tough runs coming up – I’m thinking Newcastle – Man City – Sp*rs in the league.
Song at the whistle

Because it’s about fuckin time we won at Anfield in the league again. I don’t care if it wasn’t pretty.
