Well… that was easy, wasn’t it?
I kid obviously. I’m actually feeling a bit sour after the City result earlier in the day (I’m writing this on the Sunday night).
Let’s not allow it to dampen the mood… for once again, Arsenal are top of the league. Only 34 more league games to go…
What made me smile?
Remember Almunia? Dark days for sure… but sometimes you have to remember where you came from to appreciate the Raya of light we have now. You see what I did there? With the name play?

Raya’s not known for being the best of penalty savers, but take nothing away from him – that save this weekend was spectacular. I mentioned this the other day but it’s not just his saves, the ball just sticks to his gloves like something sticky sticking to something else that’s not immediately sticky. Wow. I’m on fire today.
Also, Bruno getting his first Arsenal goal in style. It happened so quickly after the penalty save. I found myself watching the penalty save replays more than the goal itself.
What pissed me off?
Referees. Man, what a shit weekend for them.
Firstly, to award that penalty against us to begin with. The real reason was simple – because we’re Arsenal. But no one else believed that was a penalty.
I would go into how angry it made me, but what’s the point when I can just point you in the direction of Arteta’s post-game interview on TNT Sports. That man was seething.
And if we thought the officiating was shit yesterday… They must be playing a game to see who could make the worst decision in a weekend of football with the goal awarded to City today.
I have to remind myself that these are professional referees and they would never play games for their own egotistical reasons… Oh.
Either way, if City hadn’t had scored that goal, they would have at some point. United were so poor. You had one job you morons.
What surprised me?
Saka’s shooting. This, and the game against Napoli in midweek, did not show the best of Saka’s shooting. Usually he’s so much more clinical. For him to go on to miss what I would say are sitters for his standards is shocking.
Hopefully he now has that out his system with the penalty Saka himself put away and comes out firing next week.
What worries me?
Why is it we never seem to have Ben White and Timber available at the same time?!
I just knew that soon as Timber was ready to come back into the team, White would get some sort of injury. It’s really in both their interest for them to be available at the same time… so they don’t need to run themselves into the ground.
But for now, this cycle continues.
What am I thinking now?
When Foden was sent off during the Manchester derby today, I was thinking this may very well turn out to be an easy title win for Arsenal.
What with Chelsea and Liverpool dropping points in comical fashion. And Sp*rs still trying to understand what a goal actually is.
But then United went and ruined it all by trying to compete at the level of those teams and fight for a place in the shittest ‘big’ team race. City dealt with going down to 10 men very well. And in doing so have surfaced as our old new foe for the season.
Although, it still is very much early days.

Two reasons for this choice of song.
The first, it’s to protest against the refs because quite simply they’re shit and trying to make an example of Arsenal. But they should know, they’re going to have to try harder than that to stop us.
The second, quite simply, we have built quite the wall when protecting our goal. Not only do we have an amazing defence, we also only have Spain’s 3rd-best keeper to step up when we need him to.
