Good day folks. I write this as I travel home on a train after a long day at the office. The train is pretty full. And it so happens a guy has sat next to me who takes up a lot of space. To be clear – I am not calling this man fat. He just seems to be taking up a lot of space. As in he is completely spread out – legs far apart, both arms on the armrests, as he chugs on a miniature bottle of red wine.
And he is a little on the plump side. I didn’t say he’s fat!!
Anywho. I’m currently fighting for territory of the arm rest as I type. I will honest to God piss on the armrest if that’s what it takes to get territorial advantage.

Fuck me, I hope this screen guard is working. Otherwise, that’ll make things a little more awkward. Sure – pissing on the armrest is fine, but having this guy read what I’m writing about him is crossing the line.
If I sound a bit more grouchy than usual, there’s good reason for that.
You see, Mrs OddFather decided to put our house up for sale. Like our previous house, I let her crack on. I didn’t think she’d actually get very far. But like last time she managed to sell it! This was annoying. I had invested a lot in this house – extended it, decorated it, got it looking just as I liked.
And now we will have to start again. Mrs OddFather moves quickly. Must be her Aussie nature – that lot really do not stay put! Before I knew it, she had found another place. I walked in to view it. It had character but it was far smaller than the place we had before, and an absolute tip. The décor was outdated, and the garden was severely unkempt.

I turned to Mrs OddFather and asked why we were downgrading so much. She looked at me, puzzled. I explained to her how we had put so much money into extending our house that surely the money we were getting should be at least 150% on what we initially paid.
Then she informed me she had sold the house for the same amount we paid for it back in 2020. 0% profit. In fact we were making a loss.
A FUCKING LOSS!
I couldn’t look at her in the face and left immediately.
After driving far enough away I called my brother. He was on FaceTime with the family at a car showroom – showing the features on the Mercedes he was about to buy. They all could tell there was something bothering me.
Some sad music started playing and all the bottled up feelings I had poured out. I cried. I cried hysterically.

Immediately, as if by magic, my brother and his family were next to me. Giving me a hug and consoling me.
I woke up. Unaware of where I was. It was a dream. Though it took a moment to register with me and let go of my feelings of frustration toward Mrs OddFather.
Phew.
I have quite vivid dreams. Even more so recently. Maybe I can attribute last night’s dreams to the ales I drank last night. But in general I dream a lot. Mrs OddFather on the other hand, claims to never dream/remember her dreams. Signs of a sociopath maybe?
Yes – I’m still holding onto resentment towards her for selling our house for peanuts. Even if it was just a dream.
Do you know what isn’t a dream? Sitting here on a train wrestling for the bloody armrest. Time to mark my territory…
