Hello there! Long time! Can’t really explain my absence (again) other than to say I need a bit of routine back in my life so I’m here again. If you’re willing to take me back? It’s interesting how many people have mentioned this blog to me recently – specifically the transition from a movie review blog to a “lifestyle blog”… whatever that means! I guess it’s just like life, things evolve. I may still do the odd movie review – IF I get a chance to go to the cinema ever again, but for now I’ll just ramble about anything and everything.
What glorious weather we’ve had too over the last few days. And as it just so happens, these have been the exact days I have been hit with some sort of bug that has had me stuck in bed. Such a shit bug that I sent Mrs OddFather and the OddKids away for the week so I can recover in the way I can…
Yeah. I wish I could use this as an opportunity to party. Instead a good day looks like a day I’m able to eat a small bowl of very plain pasta. My throat is so sore I’m finding myself drooling due to my inability to swallow.
Hopefully before the family come home I have at least one day where I could get a kebab and a whisky in whilst I watch a movie. Yep – I’m a social butterfly.
That said, as I lay ill, I tried watching a movie yesterday and just couldn’t get into it for a while. I must have started several movies and just ended up switching them off. I think I’ve forgotten how to watch movies.
I did end up watching the film Next Goal Wins which was enjoyable enough – if not anywhere near Taika Waititi’s best. I guess football has been the one thing I’ve been staying on top of the last couple of months. With Arsenal fighting for a title that no doubt will go to Manchester City again. At the time of writing Manchester City are yet to play Fulham – a game I see as the only one they could possibly drop any points. They win that and the title is theirs. Still proud of the Gunners though. I’ll save it for an Arsenal-specific post once the season finishes.
As for the OddKids – they’re doing amazingly well. The OddSon is starting to figure out night is for sleeping, and the OddDaughter has taken to being a big sister extremely well. I would have understood if she had a down moment once the honeymoon period was over, but she’s still going strong and loves interacting with him. Obviously that will probably change one day when he’s able to walk and destroy her things.
So yeah, just a quick post to say I’m still alive… sort of. I’ve got a bunch of funny/interesting stories to write about on here from the last couple of months so stay tuned for some frequent content. Maybe if I’m organised I can standardise when I release posts on certain days. But til then just let me get back into the swing of things.
Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!
